A reassuring presence for Sabalenka
As reported yesterday, Aryna Sabalenka is going through difficult moments as she lost her boyfriend of 3 years yesterday evening when he took his own life at their Miami hotel.
Following this tragic event, the whole world thought that she would withdraw from the Miami Open to grief in private with family and friends. Against all expectations, she decided to participate in the event as planned to process her grief her own way.
The best-case scenario in these circonstances was to play a familiar face in the second round, after she got a bye in the first round as the 2nd seed. Fortunately for her, Paula Badosa beat Simona Halep, who was returning from a lengthy suspension, in the first round to secure her place in the second round against her best friend on the tour.
Hopefully, this match will ease Sabalenka's pain a bit, we wish her courage in these difficult times. The match between Sabalenka and Badosa should be presented Thursday.
Stay tuned, Stay inspired, Stay informed.
